Ceremony Music

We'll have the following songs playing as our gets are being seated at Valley of the Falls:

  • Jason Mraz, I'm Yours
  • Michael Buble, Everything
  • The Blanks, Hey Ya (acoustic cover...this is from a Scrubs wedding episode, and FI and I absolutely adore Scrubs, and this version of the song.  All goes back to the "tone" of our wedding being super lighthearted/silly and not too formal)

We'll then play the first half of this song (until 2:45), then turn up the volume dramatically and have the parents, BMs and I walk in to the rest of it starting at 3:43.  Ob-sessed with this song, clearly.

Recessional is still TBD-- could be anything from Prince's Let's Go Crazy to All I Want is You from the Juno soundtrack or 69 Police by David Holmes (the song that plays at the end of Ocean's Eleven-- can't find a version without audio clips from the movie in it right now, but you get the idea of which song it is.)

Reception Music

Our cocktail hour will be all instrumental songs from the Ocean's 11 soundtrack.  Can't get more Vegas than that, and it happens to be one of our all-time favorite movies.

We've got some...uh...eclectic tastes in music, and most of our wedding guests will be older (50+), so we've got a wide range of stuff on our reception playlist--  everything from Motown to 70's disco to rap.  Here's a sampling of some key songs:

  • I Want You Back, Jackson Five
  • September, Earth Wind & Fire
  • Superfreak, Rick James
  • You Make My Dreams Come True, Hall & Oates
  • Freedom, George Michael
  • Take Me Home Tonight, Eddie Money
  • Poison, Bel Biv De Voe
  • Don't Stop Believin', Journey
  • Shoop, Salt N-Pepa
  • Real Love, Mary J. Blige
  • Live Your Life, T.I. and Rihanna
  • Blame It, Jamie Foxx and T Pain
